Mother's Day!  Today is such a beautiful day.  Perfect California weather, nice ocean breeze, clear skies, I could see downtown from where I live, the sun's not hot and pounding on me everytime I stop at red light!  Out of all the places I've been in the world, the weather here is definitely the best and today is one of the days to prove it.

wow...it's been about 3 weeks since I moved into the apartment and it's slowly starting to look like a home.  I'm pretty much settled in but i have so many boxes of things to unpack, feels like it will never end.

As for work, I've been having a great time learning but sometimes I'm still a bit overwhelmed.  I'm going to kick back and relax this weekend.

I moved into my apartment yesterday!  Tonight is my first night at the place.  It's not bad for a two bedroom apartment in Los Angeles.  Now I just have to get to organizing and making this place look more cozy.  Can't wait to start working on Monday!

Sucks but I had to leave HK today.  We spent the night hanging out until about 230am, taking ridiculous photos together.  Kar has a lot of sunglasses, Albert looks pretty good with those things..haha...anyways...it was an awesome night to remember.  But as I said before, it has to end sometime.  Just walking past the security gates in Hong Kong airport was enough for me to miss my family and friends, which happens everytime.  I think what made it harder this time was meeting up and catching up with my cousin Kar after 10 years without seeing her.

Tuesday 9th March 2004

We had breakfast with Kar this morning at Soho Bakery.  It was the first time all three of us went there together.  Then Kar was off to work to do an interview on the radio.   Albert and I listened for her on RTHK2 which we found out later was the wrong station...it was supposed to be RTHK1.  And we caught the last half hour of what was a one hour show. Later that day we ate lunch with Michael at this Japanese restaurant in Kowloon Bay called Watami.  And then Albert and I went to buy a knife sharpener for Kar's "sharp" knives.

Monday 8th March 2004

I went to the Asia Hairdressing Awards 2003 tonight.  It was so cool.  My cousin was part of the show and had a dress that was 15 feet long.  I didnt know it took that much time to prep for a show...makeup and hair take forever!!! But nevertheless, it was definitely fun watching the whole process and there were a lot of good looking girls there as well...haha...

Yesterday was such a long day! I arrived home from Kar's place at 2am and woke up at 745am to go to Macau with Albert and my aunt. We arrived in Macau at 10am and went straight to the Mater Dei Cathedral facade and Fortress Hill. After that we went to the 338m Macau Tower. That was a trip, they had installed some glass floors so you could look straight down to the base of the tower. My cousin and many other people who were afraid of heights were having an "interesting" time dealing with that. After the the tower we went to Taipa island to have a Portugese lunch. We were so stuffed cuz' my aunt ordered way too much food. We had a salad, lamb, pork, beef and chicken all in the same meal. After that we went to Lord Stow's for some Portugese style egg tarts and left for Hong Kong at 4. We arrived in HK around 5 and went back to my flat to pick several things before heading back to my cousin Kar's place. She was so hungry by that time since all she did during the day was lounge and watch movies for her homework...what a LAZY BUM! We went to CitySuper to pick up some items for dinner and then went back home to prepare what was our first homecooked meal together. My cousin help make the fish, salad, steak, and sauteed mushrooms and shallots. It was such a fun experience, I'm going to miss hanging out like this in HK. After dinner we watched a movie, 28 days later....I want my two hours of life back. Then the hair started to get chopped off as Kar started to give us haircuts....haha...what an experience...just kidding, great job Kar! These past few days are definitely among my most memorable in HK, I wish I could spend more time like this with my cousins! Anyways it's so late now...I'm going to pass out...
